About the Artist: Yongjing Li was born in China. She has been working at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an electron microscopist since 1989. Yongjing Li loves Oriental painting. Her strong interests led her to practice by herself when she was very young. Later she took painting classes and workshops in many cities while she developed and improved her painting skills. Her focus then became to mix Oriental images and skills with western painting styles. Today, knowledge of classical and modern techniques helps bring life to her artwork. She said: “Art has opened a new world to my life! I fell in love with my brush to create the images from my heart! . Each painting becomes a new experience as well as a surprise for me.
